When at Canada Post, the door-to-door delivery program was transitioning to a community mailbox (CMB) based delivery mode. Ballast bases were needed for the new boxes where concrete pads weren't appropriate.
Various forms were developed to meet the design requirements and needs of the installation engineers.
I sourced a precast concrete producer to create prototypes for testing.
A prototype was wind tunnel tested for tipping during a Category 1 hurricane. (Click this image to view a video).
Installation procedures were tested on site.
After a wide range of testing and approvals, the design was finalized for public use.
